Incredible Weekend Fun

This weekend we celebrated the Parr family's return to the big screen. I've always loved The Incredibles, so when I heard they were making a sequel I started counting down the days. To make it even better this time around I have my precious family to share the movies with!

Friday night we celebrated at home with an Incredibles themed dinner and movie night. It was fun and easy to put together for the kids, and I hope I can always make time to fit in these special nights for them!

Dinner was quick and simple. We had fruit, pizza twists, and cookies. I used strawberries, oranges, blueberries, and pineapple to create the Incredible logo on a plate. I searched pinterest for some inspiration and used the images I found to help guide me in creating my fruit logo. The super power printables I found here for free, again a simple pinterest search. While I wish I had the talent of creative baking I do not; I purchased our adorable cookies from a local family friend. You can find her here. Some other fun touches I added were Incredibles paper plates, the eye masks, and a cute little balloon. All of which I got from Party City for under $15. Put it all together and add some themed pj's for the kiddos and TA-DA! A fun yet cute family dinner.

The Incredibles 2 movie review with no spoilers ;)

First I would suggest watching the original before heading to theater. The sequel picks up exactly where the first one left off, so it was nice to have that movie fresh on my mind. Secondly bring some tissues to wipe away the tears caused by laughter! Ok that might be a bit dramatic, but I don't think I've laughed that much in any Pixar movie. I thought Pixar did an "incredible' job with this sequel, and as of this moment it is my favorite sequel they've created!

I should also note that there are some scenes involving strobe lights that theaters are warning people with epilepsy about. Most are very quick scenes, but there is one scene that lasts longer than the others.

Now go have an Incredible weekend with your family! And don't forget to capture those sweet smiles :)
