Growing Up Disney

I first visited Walt Disney World when I was 6 months old. As my parents tell me we enjoyed It's A Small World and The Enchanted Tiki Room over and over. These attractions provided some relief from the Florida SUMMER heat (great planning Mom and Dad!). Despite the heat my parents fell in love with Disney and it became a yearly vacation for our family.

Summer after summer we traveled down to Orlando. We saw attractions come and go. We saw new theme parks be built. We saw new movies and then headed to Disney to meet the new characters. Every single trip we had something new to look forward to. Even that "awesome" 25th anniversary birthday cake castle that someone thought was a good idea!

I am so thankful my parents decided that traveling and making memories was more important than the amount of toys and "things" we owned. Because you see Walt Disney World isn't a theme park to me it's my second home. It's place full of memories. A place I grew up at. A place I can visit now and tell my husband about a fight my sister and I had on the bench we just walked by (love you Peyton!). A place I can visit and watch my daughter ride the exact same ride with her Daddy that I rode with my Dad. A place that gives me a break from the real world and lets me be a kid again. A place that already holds so many memories for my daughter. A place I'll never grow tired of. Thanks Mom & Dad for giving me all of that plus so much more!

So here's to "buying" memories instead of more "things". I hope my Blog will be the place to visit when you need Disney tips, to research a Disney experience, to plan a Disney vacation or just to add some extra magic to your day!
