Harmony Barber Shop

Last week Maverick had his first haircut at the Harmony Barber Shop in Magic Kingdom. This was our first time at the barber shop and it was MAGICAL! I am going to try my best to translate how amazing our experience was with my words, but I am pretty sure I won’t do it justice.

I knew I wanted Maverick’s first haircut to be at the Harmony Barber Shop, but I wasn’t sure when that would be. We decided a few weeks before our trip that it was time for his first hair cut! Here are a few before pictures of my little man!

I wasn’t able to book a reservation in advance, but they leave one chair open for walk ups! We arrived around 10am and we were able to schedule an appointment for the same afternoon #momwin. We were lucky enough to be paired with Tony! He put on a show for us. Incredible doesn’t even begin to describe the experience he created for Maverick (and me!). From singing Disney songs to making sure I was ready to video the first hair being cut he went above and beyond. In typical Disney fashion they really do think of everything, each chair was armed with light up singing toys to keep the kiddos entertained. I was worried even that wouldn’t keep Maverick still enough for a hair cut but it did ;) Those Barber Shop cast members aren’t just good at what they do, they are GREAT! Every kid in there was smiling and having the best day.

The value of this experience is great as well! The first hair cut is $25. It includes the hair cut, keepsake “My First Haircut” ears, a certificate detailing your child’s very first hair cut, and they save the first lock of hair that is cut and wrap it up as a keepsake. All of that alone is worth the $25 and that’s not including the joy of the experience. Your child is put center stage in their own show when you come to the Harmony Barber Shop. Maverick was enthralled with Tony the entire time and he flashed that sweet little smirk more times than I can count. Plus the finished haircut looked amazing on my little guy.

I’ve told my husband multiple times since our trip that Maverick’s first hair cut at the Harmony Barber Shop is one of my top 5 Disney Experiences! I still can’t get over the special treatment and truly magical moments we experienced while there. The smile on Maverick’s face is etched in my memory and I am so thankful for all these precious photos I have. I know one day I’ll look back on these moments frozen in time with such happiness. If I’m being honest my eyes are watering as I type this! Take the time to make those special memories, you’ll never regret it!
