Diversity Princess Activity for Toddlers

Today we incorporated some learning with our Disney Princess play! This simple activity helps those little minds start to understand diversity. We are all different in so many ways, yet we are all the same and equally worthy. Today we learned that every Princess is worthy of her crown!

The set up for this was very easy! Here’s what you’ll need…

• Card-stock/Paper

• Sharpie/Markers

• Princess figurines/dolls

• Crayons

I grabbed a piece of card-stock, a ruler, and a sharpie to get started. A ruler isn’t needed but I am OCD and needed straight lines! I sketched out 15 squares, and then added “Dream Big, Princess” at the bottom. Once that was complete I let Malie pick out 5 princesses from her collection. We ended up with Jasmine, Ariel, Snow White, Tiana, and Cinderella. You can shop our princess figurine set here.

Malie was so excited to get started! Our top row was hair color. We made our way across the row filling in each square for each princess, according to her hair color. We continued across the rows filling in both skin color and dress color. Along the way Malie was really focused on picking the color out for each square. For the skin color row she held the crayon right up to each Princesses face to find her perfect match. These Crayola Crayons gave us a good variety for skin tones. We talked while she colored about how each Princess looked very different from the next. Different hair color, skin color, and dress color - no two were the same BUT they are all Princesses. They all wear a crown!!

I hope this sparks some ideas to include in your child’s daily play! Their little minds catch on to more than we know. Never forget we are raising the future :)
